We at The Mission Attempt believe To Love is to Help. Having recently secured our own 501c3 status and listing in Guidestar, we are working hard to expand our reach.Our fundraising will go to the projects listed here. Our community includes generous and committed donors from all over the St. Louis area and nationwide. We are on a mission. Join us!
Hope for the Holidays:
New application process this year
One of the missions that makes The Mission Attempt unique is our holiday gift giveaway. We invite families who may be having a hard time this year to give us their wish lists for what they need this Christmas. We shop specifically for them, making their wishes come true. This year, we are asking families to sign up for a FREE Financial Literacy Class in order to apply. We believe in giving hope that lasts BEYOND the holidays!
The Mission Attempt Receives 2026 Change Agent Visionary Award
The Mission Attempt was thrilled to be honored Saturday, Aug. 8, as a Change Agent Visionary Award Winner at The Michael Brown Sr. Chosen For Change Organization’s 2026 Black Ball. The event honors individuals and organizations whose dedication, service, and commitment continue to create meaningful change within our communities. Teona McGhaw-Ward and Trevion McGhaw received the award on behalf of our organization. See the tribute video. We could not have this impact without our donors, and so for those who have contributed, we share this award with you! And it is never too late to join us in making change in our community.
2026 Jolly July Gala: A Celebration of the best of North St. Louis!
The weather was hot outside, but the room positively sizzled with excitement at the Mission Attempt’s 2026 Jolly July Gala on July 18th. We celebrated businesses and individuals who have invested heart and soul in St. Louis. So many inspiring stories, so many examples of dedication and determination. August: Getting Kids Ready for School
We were pleased to be invited by the National Council of Jewish Women St. Louis to bring 80 children to the Back-to-School Store event the afternoon of August 2 at Temple Israel.

The Mission Attempt had a busy weekend in the community with our Juneteenth Utility Reconnect Program, which will help 25 families get their power turned back on, and our Fathers Day Event, which gathered dads together for celebration and inspiration.
